9 Month Update for Our Little Wild Thing

It is officially IMPOSSIBLE to get a picture of him in the chair with the chalkboard!
39 Weeks
Weight: 18 lbs. 9 oz.
Length: 27 1/2"

Milestones: We have SIX teeth!  He's also starting to cruise around the furniture holding on with two hands, and yesterday he took a few steps in the bathtub while just holding on to the hubs' hand.
Sleep: We're back to about 11 hours straight through the night!
Eating: This past weekend we just gave him his formula in his sippy cup during the day.  He still had a bottle at bedtime.  We also gave him "real" food for all three meals!  On Saturday it wasn't so successful, and he had baby food for lunch and dinner.  On Sunday he had 1/2 a large pancake for breakfast, peas and carrots, 1/2 a 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich, and 1/4 banana for lunch, and then 1/2 cup of a rice, chicken, and broccoli cheese bake for dinner!  He loved every second of the pancake for breakfast and the rice bake for dinner.  I froze a second pancake for later this week too.

Part of the Clean Plate Club
Mood: I think we're going to have a very interesting month.  He's starting to try new things and getting a bit frustrated when things don't go his way or he can't figure something out.
Likes: He loves playing in any type of water and going on walks with me in the afternoon.  He also likes chasing around his Jack Russell, Jarkko!
Dislikes: Diaper changes and getting his snuggle suit on for bedtime.

Things I want to remember: Our super fun spring break, and the scrunched up smile he makes when he's excited.  Oh, and his super fast crawl!

Looking forward to: Same as last month: walking and talking!  And planning his first birthday!  I'm also looking forward to being done with school and spending all summer spoiling this little nugget!

The Wild Rumpus: Spring Break and Easter 2015

Last week was spring break for our school district, so we got a whole, crazy week with our little nugget!  I had so many fantastic plans: consistently starting real finger foods, dancing the day away in the living room, going to see the replicas of Columbus's ships in Charleston, going to the beach, and taking nugget to the farm for the first time!

Unfortunately, daddy was hit with a stomach bug Tuesday and Wednesday, and then nugget came down with a low-grade fever on Wednesday through Thursday.  We did dance the first part of the week away in the living room, and we did go see the ships in Charleston after our doctor's appointment; however, the beach and the farm were replaced with snuggles and naps in a pile on the couch.  I cannot complain because for once my mile a minute baby wanted nothing more than to sleep with me on the couch!  Miraculously, I survived (*knock on wood*) without a scratch, so I think we really enjoyed the last part of the break adventuring around Charleston and having fun on our first Easter.

On Thursday, we had a followup with the endocrinologist at MUSC; we saw a different doctor this time, and I could not be more pleased!  She explained that this could be a passing issue; typically, children of his age are on approximately 37.5 micrograms, but that she's also seen children stay on a very low dose for an extended time (even while they grow).  I had previously resigned myself to not stop medicating until 3-4 years old (when the brain is past it's critical development phase), but now I am more certain that we are doing the right thing, and I feel like I have a better understanding of why we are doing the right thing.  That same day, nugget's fever was holding steady at about 101, but we decided that a bit of fresh air would actually be good for him, so while we were in Charleston we stopped down at the Charleston Harbor and Marina to check out replicas of the Niña and Pinta.  It was absolutely crazy how small they actually were!  We were impressed with the affordability, and after I got over my anxiety of walking over the floating dock with my small child, we all really enjoyed the day!

My sick booger...and yet he was so happy!

Friday we dyed Easter eggs, and I put together nugget's first basket!  We were able to use the adorable hand-painted bucket that our very good friends purchased when baby was first born, so I really felt like the basket turned out perfectly because it wasn't just a generically purchased basket.  Egg dyeing was certainly an interesting experience.  First of all, I horribly miss the egg dye that was around when I was a kid.  *gulp* I suppose simply typing that phase means that I am getting old!  He tried to eat the plain eggs.  He tried to eat the dyed eggs.  But it was absolutely adorable!  When he "found" his basket, he immediately attempted to eat the eggs again, but we put them away so that he could enjoy all of the goodies in his basket without the distraction.  His interest in all of the little things makes me so excited for all of the fun events to come!

My first Easter basket creation! All of his favorite things!
Inside the bucket: boat bath toy, two new sippy cups, a new book, yogurt bites, and puffs!

He went right for the book!

My little ham!

Mamaw Joyce sent some belated Easter gifts on Tuesday!

I also spent part of the week finalizing (for me, of course) nugget's first birthday theme.  I plan on doing a Where the Wild Things Are theme since my booger is such a wild thing lately, and I have a very good feeling that things are not going to change in that department any time soon.  I can't wait to start actually putting things together and buying things!  We are going to have the party at my mom's house since she has so much land and a great pool and hot tub.  Fingers crossed that my mom-butt is fit enough to squeeze into a decent swim suit by July!

I can't believe that in FIVE days I will be the mother of a 9 month old, and I have to start planning a birthday party!  Let the wild rumpus begin (actually, continue)!

For now, I'll leave you with a few of my absolute favorite pictures of my boys!
