24 Weeks! Spring Break Extravaganza!
The past seven days have flown by, and today I feel like we accomplished absolutely nothing through this whole break. Now, I know that isn't true. I have an office nursery full of completed baby furniture that says otherwise; however, my house is still a disaster zone. Apparently we cannot focus on more than one task...and that may become a problem in August, so we better get with it!
Spring break was wonderful though! Monday and Tuesday were full on baby focused days. We had a doctor's appointment bright and early Monday morning that confirmed the little nugget is growing right on schedule, and they oh so graciously scheduled my glucose appointment for next month *insert joyfully sarcastic grin here.* I just hope I only have to suffer through the one hour test! Wednesday we kind of just vegged around since we spent two days getting the nursery organized...well, I did...hubby was busy trying to get my car back in to working order (it's still not 100%). Yesterday, I was finally able to make it out to see my beautiful pony, who would much rather have eaten all of the gorgeous green grass than play with me, but oh well! On Friday, it decided that it was going to rain the later part of the afternoon, so even if I had wanted to venture out to the farm, the rain said, "oh hell no, I'm putting a stop to all of your fun right now." The weather looked so abysmal for today that I ended up having to cancel our monthly adopt-a-thon as well. Though I have to say after seeing all of my family and friends posting about the snow they had this past week, I will take a few hours of rain!
Hopefully after this last cold spell, the North will hold out and decide it's going to be spring since we are going to make the trek home in a few days to see my amazing cousin get married! Look for a mid week update for week 25!
How far along: 24 weeks, 5 days
Gender: Boy!
Weight Gain: +15 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I've been lounging this week since it was spring break...I'm a bit anxious for Monday to see if my work pants still fit!
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In, but I've finally taken out my belly button ring.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Sleep: I've been "catching up" this week, and it has been marvelous!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, I had my first stranger ask me if I was pregnant!
Best moment this week: All of the nursery furniture is built, and hubby and I are still married and in one piece!
Miss anything: This week, not so much.
Happy or moody most of the time: Emotional...but it's manageable, so I'll survive.
Movement: Yep, I'm finally kind of used to him moving. The hubs felt him roll the other night when we were falling asleep; it caused quite the laughing fit at midnight!
Queasy or sick: Still with the acid reflux, and I can't nail down what is causing it. Other than that, I've been feeling pretty good lately.
Looking forward to: My cousin is getting married this coming Saturday, so we're headed home for a quick (emphasis on quick) weekend visit.

23 Weeks...Baby's First Prom!
This week felt like it lasted FOREVER! We were all desperately waiting for the week to be over so that we could start our spring break, and I went to bed almost every night swearing that it was going to be Friday when I woke up. Last night was prom night at our high school, and it was great to see the kids all dressed up! Both hubby and I just can't wait to spend our spring break on the nursery and getting everything in this house cleaned up after being so busy the past month and a half.
How far along: 23 weeks, 4 days
Gender: boy
Weight gain: +15 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I ordered some shirts and jeans online...the jeans were sold out and some of the shirts were as well, so I think I have a total of TWO shirts coming after I ordered FIVE things!
Stretch Marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: on
Sleep: I adore sleep.
Have you started so show yet: Yep...definitely. I've had a few people ask me at work if I'm pregnant, so I guess I look knocked up!
Best moment this week: This upcoming week is SPRING BREAK!
Miss anything: I could have used a beer after work yesterday!
Happy or moody most of the time: I was easily irritated again this week...
Movement: He's all over the place this week! I can feel him rolling now...talk about a super weird sensation!
Queasy or sick: I'm getting acid reflux or something every so often when I'm lounging around.
Looking forward to: Enjoying 9 days off of work and cleaning the mess that I call home!

22 Weeks
This weekend, my baby brother graduates from Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, so this big sister is brimming with pride. I am now the proud sister of two Airmen and a Marine! I couldn't imagine putting myself through what they all have, and I really do think they are MUCH better people than I am for being so willing to do so! Though I have to say (and yes, I'm bragging here); my mom and dad did an amazing job with all of us!
Our week in sunny South Carolina was quite uneventful. We had HSAP testing all week, so for the first three to five hours on Tuesday through Thursday we were in a testing situation. The hubby and I are both assigned to freshmen advisories, so we were responsible for monitoring them while the sophomore class took their exit exam. It was beyond exciting! After those dead hours, of course the students were oh, so very willing to sit still for another four hours to work on learning about epic literature and "The Odyssey!" Can you just see the sarcasm? In their defense, I also think the fact that this week's weather was sunny and in the high 70's low 80's also played a huge role in the student's (and my) lack of attention and patience! Now if only it were to stay in the high 70's with a slight breeze for the next 5 months, and I would be one happy pregnant lady. Alas, I don't see that happening, but for now, I'll take it!
How far along: 22 weeks, 5 days
Gender: BOY!
Weight gain: +15 (color me NOT happy about this!)
Maternity clothes: Prepping to purchase some more stuff today! I am in need of a few shirts, but I definitely plan on getting things I can wear post baby.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Sleep: I am now consistently getting up once a night to go to the bathroom! Other than that, sleep has been the same as always--awesome!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, and it's starting to look like a baby bump. He is still hiding out low in my pelvis though.
Best moment of this week: Hubby felt nugget move one day this week while we were drifting off to sleep, and it was such a big kick that he was startled!
Miss anything: Not much really...not this week anyway!
Happy or moody most of the time: I was easily irritated this week, but I don't necessarily think that it was pregnancy related. We're one week out from prom, Ghost Out (a major Journalism event, and I'm the journalism adviser), and spring break, so I think I might just be ready for a week off of work.
Movement: He definitely has periods of being awake and sleeping. He will move like crazy when I sit down after moving around the classroom, but once I get home and relax he's kind of quiet.
Cravings: Nothing at all this week!
Queasy or sick: Still no desire to eat anything...
Looking forward to: Our glider is supposed to arrive Monday, so that means I desperately need to get to work on transitioning the office!

Nursery Musings
Now that we are in the know that the little nugget does in fact have nuggets, we are beginning to plan the nursery. Before we were even pregnant, I was pinning stuff on Pinterest. That website is a life sucker, but oh so helpful in the department of party, wedding, and baby planning! I swear I have a pin for everything, and yet I seem to never actually DO any of them! Shame on me!
First, we agreed that we did not want to repaint the office because we were so enamored with the charcoal grey paint. Some people would disagree and say that it is too dark, but I absolutely LOVE the dark grey, and I can't wait to see everything come together. The wonderful nursery below reinforced my desire to NOT repaint:
About thirteen weeks into our journey, I began a board dedicated to nursery things. I never realized how many awesome ideas were out there until I started actively looking. At about 7 weeks pregnant, I quickly settled on an overarching theme--owls--and my mother indulged me with this amazing ceramic owl table purchase from Marshalls during our visit home for Christmas.
I suppose this, along with the rug she purchased from Zulily (below), were really the springboard for the nursery theme.
Once I had these pieces, the hubby and I agreed that we would try our best to stay neutral when it came to the bedding, so that we could reuse the majority of our purchases for the next go around if we are inclined to be so brave. I looked for a few months before I finally found something on Walmart.com that the hubby even had an opinion about, which was a feat in and of itself! I purchased it the next week!
I have found what I think will be some awesome additions to the nursery. Now I just need to get to work purchasing them from the appropriate Etsy stores!
Any suggestions?!

Our grey isn't quite so dark, but seeing this picture and a hundred other grey nurseries on Pinterest made me happy to see that there are so many different ways to make a "dark" wall color work in a nursery. Also, I wanted to make the nursery something that our baby could grow with instead of growing out of it within the first 6 years of his or her life.

I am totally wanting a vinyl decal, but I'm stuck on which one to choose. I love my hubby to death, but he is absolutely ZERO help on decoration decisions! I think it was still a fluke that he expressed any opinion about the crib, dresser, and bedding set at all!
