Family Baby Shower and Visit Home

Last week, the hubby, furbabies, and I made the twelve hour drive to our hometown to celebrate our little nugget and the departure of my oldest baby brother for air traffic control training in Oklahoma and then California.  We had such an amazing trip!  My niece and nephew were also in from Florida, so we were able to see almost all of our immediate family during our week home.  Unfortunately, my youngest brother is still going through Air Force tech school in Oklahoma, and my older brother and his wife stayed behind in Florida.  We missed them greatly, but it was fantastic to see everyone else!

My beautiful family.  Please excuse the fact that I look like a fatty!

We kept ourselves busy throughout the week.  We all went to the Cleveland zoo on Wednesday morning, my mom, niece, and I got pedicures and manicures on Thursday, visited the local flea market on Friday, threw my brother his going away party on Saturday night, and then had our baby shower on Sunday.  My brother's girlfriend was also gracious enough to gift us our maternity pictures, so we took care of those Monday afternoon.  I can't wait to see them and post them here for everyone to see!

The baby shower was absolutely PERFECT!  My mom did a wonderful job planning and implementing exactly what I wanted in a really great venue.  Everyone that showed up was so generous, and it was very clear that we are all so loved.  I have to credit Pinterest for a lot of our ideas, but my mother pulled everything together flawlessly!

The food and drink table.

The favors were mason jars wrapped in burlap with a lace accent and two baby oriented charms.  Plus, the adorable napkins that read, "You are my sunshine."

Table decorations.  Blue mason jars with daisy flowers on top of a burlap table runner.

The adorable cupcake "cake" to tie in my owl nursery theme.

As a result of our busy schedule, I didn't do my typical chalkboard update, but the shower fell on a Sunday and the going away party was on Saturday, so technically, both pictures (the one above and the one directly below) are 32 week photos.

Me and my besties--soon to be Aunt Jenn, Aunt Burgundy, and Aunt Carrianne!

When we left on Wednesday, hubby and I both agreed that the visit was loud, busy, but very rewarding.  Even when we returned this week, it felt as though the ball continued to roll.  We celebrated our four year anniversary Thursday with dinner in downtown Charleston at California Dreamin', and Saturday (tomorrow) we have an adopt-a-thon from 12-4.  It will be the last official event that I organize and attend until after my "maternity leave," which will end in October.  With everything winding down, or gearing up depending on how you look at it, I can't wait to have the next 40-some days fly by so that we can meet this little nugget in person.

Look for my 33 week update after the adopt a thon tomorrow!
