Ready for a Jail Break: 10 Month Update

This is a day late because our little nugget was a bundle of so much fun by 7pm. *insert sarcastic mom face here*  This past weekend he ran a fever from Friday 3pm-Saturday 8pm, and then was super snotty (literally) and congested up until today.  When we woke up this morning, the cough that he's had on and off for about a month sounded different, so we decided to make a doctor's appointment.  Thankfully, I was able to make an appointment for 11 this morning.  We were in and out of the doctor in 30 minutes.  I seriously think that's a record, but of course it happened because I didn't want to go back to work.  Nugget was given a 10-day dose of an antibiotic even though his lungs were clear and nothing seemed too off...which I think is better than letting something develop in the next few days.  We go back in 10 days for a check up to make sure his ears and lungs are still good.  I think that getting through the winter flu season unscathed was an accomplishment, so I'll take it!

As of 3:30 today, we have 15 days of work left with students!  I cannot express how ready I am for this summer...I can't wait to spend every day with my nugget.  I can't wait to clean the hell out of my house...seriously, if there is any miracle plan to keep up with a house, infant, husband, and work, please, give it here!  We just have stuff everywhere...and I mean, for freaking real, every. where.  Someday I'm going to earn enough money each month to hire someone to clean my house.

In the same vein, I've started to put together an Etsy store (still in progress), Zazzle store, and Facebook page to market my custom invitations.  I started making my friend's baby shower invitation two years ago and have progressed to making every invitation I need.  Keep your eyes peeled for a 1st birthday planning post after the invitations go out later next week!  I'm going to try really hard to work on developing some truly original invitations this summer and hopefully I will really make some extra money!  I also really want to focus on developing this blog into more than just baby updates.  I've always wanted to write, and I suppose this is the most reasonable avenue given my profession and mommy life!

Speaking of!  Here's the monthly nugget update:

43 Week/10 month Update
Weight: ~19 lbs
Length: He absolutely refuses to sit still to be measured. He actually let me measure him on 5/20, and he's 28" long!

Milestones: He is cruising all over the place, and I think he is going to be walking before a year old!  We are also bottle free!  I don’t think he’s had a bottle in over a month, which I’m super excited about.  I was sure that breaking that bedtime bottle was going to be awful, but we transitioned to a sippy cup with no problem and once school is out, I’m pretty sure we will be able to eliminate that with little to no fuss.  He got his first haircut in April, and I am a terrible mother because I didn’t take any pictures.  In my defense, he was sick, I was in foils because I was also getting a haircut, and I was more worried about soothing him than being in his face with a camera.  Don’t worry though.  He will definitely need another haircut before his first birthday!
Sleep: The past few days he has been very restless while sleeping, but I think that this is because he’s been feeling under the weather recently.  He’s down to 2 naps a day, and bedtime is still between 7:15 and 7:45.
Eating: He’s eating pretty much everything that we eat with a few exceptions. He obviously can’t have fish or seafood yet, so I’ve modified everything that we have planned for dinner to fit that.  We have had a few meltdowns at the dinner table because he was being a turd, but all-in-all he’s doing really well eating “real” food.
Mood: Cranky and clingy over the past week.  Normally he is loving, sweet, and goofy.  But, boy! Is he expressive with his eyebrows, and he can give a look, let me tell you!
Likes: Cheerios and getting tickled!
Dislikes: He is NOT a fan of fresh blueberries, diaper changes, being told no, or being removed from a situation in lieu of telling him no.

Things I want to remember: Slimy baby kisses!  He’s starting to give kisses whenever he feels like it.

Looking forward to: Sending out his birthday invitations in a week and buying some stuff to decorate for his party!  Also, that first intentional word (other than Mama or Dada)…my money is on ‘dog.’

And I leave you with these amazing baby blues:
