The transition from teaching independently to co-teaching is going well. We launched our second project this week, and we are both very excited to see how it goes! We're having the students complete a mock trial during which they prosecute King George for his crimes against the colonists. I'm super excited to implement my English side of things and teach them how to debate/argue effectively. I laugh out loud every time I say or type that because I can only imagine how entertaining it is going to be to teach 40+ teenagers how to effectively argue with relevant evidence!
For the last half of September, Lochlan was on 50 mcg of the synthetic thyroid medication. He was retested three weeks ago, and the results revealed that his TSH was suppressed. Basically, this means that the medication is too much because his own system is no longer working as hard as it should to produce the T4. The doctor reduced his dosage to 37.5 mcg, and we go back to get his levels checked this week. I know that being on the medication is the best thing for him, but I'm a bit worried that he has not been gaining the right amount of weight over the last month because he was on too much of the medicine. I'm going to call back and ask the nurse on Monday what we should expect weight wise with this guess and check method. He's already up to 5 oz. at each feeding, and he's so spitty sometimes that I don't know if his little tummy can hold any more than 5 oz. at this point. I also don't know what he should weigh because the whole, "everyone is different" is so very true.
One thing that I do know for sure is that he is absolutely adorable, and I am so very lucky to have such a smiley, happy, adorable baby!

Weight: approximately 11 lbs.
Length: approximately 23 1/2 in.
Milestones: He's smiling up a storm and is definitely recognizing us when he wakes up and when we pick him up from daycare. He's responding to us when we talk to him, and definitely has his own little personality!
Sleep: Little man is an awesome sleeper! He's sleeping from about 8 pm to 5:30 am, and then he goes back to sleep around 6:30 am until about 8:30/9 am. He's also napping about 30-45 minutes 5 or 6 times throughout the day.
Eating:We're up to 5 oz/ in each bottle, but he's down to 25 oz. total on the day. I'm worried that he's not eating enough, but he's having about 6 wet diapers and 1 good poop each day, and he's satisfied throughout the day, so I'm not sure.
Mood: He's a happy little baby 99% of the time.
Likes: Playing on his mat and looking at his daddy!
Dislikes: Having a dirty diaper.
Things I want to remember: I want to remember how his face lights up when he sees us for the first time in the morning or when we pick him up from daycare.
Looking forward to: Baby giggles...
Remember Uncle Michael was always "little" and he is now 6 ft tall !
